The farm at 2361 Hwy 80 in Faulkville has applied to rezone 52.84 acres from AR1 to B3 to create a container storage facility and motor freight terminal. The 52.84 acres borders every house that is on the west side of George Rd. This property is surrounded otherwise by all residential properties with one exception. That exception is 5 acres adjacent to the farm to the west that is currently zoned B3 although not really used as such.

Traffic and noise disturbance on Highway 80 is already bad with more tractor trailers traveling on the road than meant to already. The traffic will get worse, not to mention the increased likelihood of wrecks from tractor trailers trying to pull out or turn into the property. The property also retained access to George Rd suggesting an increase of traffic on George Rd as well. Such a large piece of land rezoned for containers next to all of these residential properties is sure to decrease the home values of George Rd and nearby homes on Hwy 80.

I am asking any and all to help protect this small community from such a facility being created on the beautiful land as is proposed. There is a meeting 6 pm, November 15th at the Effingham County Board of Commissioners - Development Services Department: Planning and Zoning located at 601 North Laurel Street Springfield Ga 31329. Sign this petition and attend the meeting!
