STOP THE REMOVAL OF THE BRIDGES ON THE NEW TRANSMISSION LINE IN TERRA NOVA AND CENTRAL

We have to stop the removal of the bridges on the new transmission line in the Terra Nova and Central areas. The transmission line is the only alternate route for evacuation for anyone west of Eight Mile bridge. That road was cut off with a recent fire. Health and safety has to be the #1 reason to keep it open to Triton Brook and Gambo Pond. I also feel the government has dropped the ball on the potential for ATV tourism on the island and it is up to us to try and pick it up. Especially with the decline in the Salmon fishery, this could help out a lot of local economies in the small communities. There are a large number of ATV groups travelling the island every year and access to the smaller communities for fuel, food, accommodations would be a big benefit to the local economies. Tax payers have paid to have these bridges to be installed and we should have some say whether they come out. The environmental impact has already been done, removing the bridges will not reverse this effect. Please sign the petition to show your support in keeping these bridges in place.
