Over the past few months my wife and I have noticed this obnoxious smell every night starting just after dark. It gets so bad that we are unable to enjoy our back yard on warn summer nights. It smells a lot like burning road tar. For years we have enjoyed our time in our back yard and now the smell is so strong we are no longer able to sit out in our back yard and enjoy the summer nights. We live on Martingale behind the Rite Aid. Every night we feel like we are being held prisoners in our own home.

We need HELP and we need it NOW.

Strip mining should not be taking place in such close proximity to residential neighborhoods and to ecosystems and waterways. Not to mention how it will impact the health of ALL living creatures in such proximity. I work in the medical research field and know this will be harmful.
A strip mining impact on the ecosystem, environment, residences, health and recreation in and around Old Hickory Lake and the immediate surrounding areas, will also affect the local economy and tourism industry would be devastating to the residents of this neighborhood, county and state.
IDL can take their destructive, greedy agendas elsewhere!!

It's disrupting the BIG picture of the community! Pollution and damages will occur along with mistakes made by humans!!

This is a Horrific idea! I just now learned of this project. I'm truly surprised this information hasn't been "blasted" from all media, internet outlets. Hoping for a positive outcome!

I am deeply concerned about the negative environmental impact, as well as the negative impact on quality of life in the city that this operation will cause.

I recently visited your area and am very interested in relocating to the area in a few years when I retire. If this mining is allowed, I would not move to Old Hickory.

Old Hickory has been my home for all of my life. I have enjoyed and take pride in the lake recreation area, the nature trails and the history of this little community. Just because we are a little community does not mean that we are not allowed a right to say what happens to it.
I am also concerned at what the blasting will do to an aging dam with thousands of souls living below it.
