The State Government has decided that to “save money”, they are going to put our jobs up for tender – the silly thing is - all of our operating cost, including our wages, are paid for by the cost of meals we provide, so our jobs cost the taxpayer nothing.
We love our jobs, and want to keep providing an outstanding service to schools & social groups by serving healthy meals and teaching children about nutrition & food preparation. Please help us save our jobs.
We value the hard work of the staff at Tallebudgera, and understand that they operate at no cost to taxpayers.
It appears that your slash and burn approach to cost cutting is entirely indiscriminate to the actual costs that are being cut.
The current public tender for the Tallebudgera Active Recreation Centre does not take into account the full scope of services provided by the current catering contractor or the learning outcomes achieved by the children being involved in preparation and serving which go over and above those set out in the tender document - it also excludes the current caterer from reapplying & therefore several local workers will lose their livelihoods.
Minister, let common sense rule the day here - save the jobs of the employees at Tallebudgera, and support these dedicated and hardworking staff.
