My nieces are victims of Parental Kidnapping and now the misuse of ICWA. Their mother is in jail for this charge and also Contempt of Court. She is refusing to cooperate and have the girls returned to their home in Fargo with their fathers. Fathers were granted full custody by the mother's family is holding them hostage!

I am signing, because of the countless lives damaged by a child welfare and legal system, that has a diminished view of the importance of permanency and attachment.

I have witnessed how the misuse and abuse of this law affects our children. It's time to do something about it!

The recent case of Lexi Page has brought the misuse of ICWA (Indian Child Welfare Act) into the center of public attention. Best interest considerations for foster children are routinely being overridden where ICWA is invoked. If you support #BringLexiHome consider supporting this petition as well.

im singing because we are in the 21st century and this act only serves to repay the racist attitudes of the past. it denies children affected equal protection of the law and in effect creates a second class citizenship for them. all children deserve to thrive and be happy and experience stability, regardless of their race or the race of the family that loves and nourishes them.

Because I'm so tired of seeing children being told they have to live with abusive relatives because they're "blood-related."

I'm a LCSW specializing in adoption and attachment issues and this is outrageous.
