WE NEED TO FIGHT BACK AGAINST THE LEGAL CAPTURING OF NON THREATENED SHARK SPECIES !
There are over 400 species of sharks and around 180 species occur in Australia, but many of these species are not protected. The capturing of non threatened species of sharks for commercial or recreational purposes in Australia is a legal act. A handful of species are "threatened" leaving them mostly untouchable with heavy fines and possible jail time if breached, leaving a wide variety of species left to be captured and used for whatever purposes need be.
I have been fascinated by sharks ever since i was a lil youngin and these animals truely mean the world to me and anything i can do to stop people from treating them as waste and killing them for unjust purposes, i will do.
I have been in contact with the minister of environment and energy for Australia recently and due to Government not making any hefty improvements towards fixing this issue i have started this petition to send of the the MP to try to push forward further action to protect these beautiful predators of our ocean.
Everyone and anyones help would be extremely appreciated, the more signatures received will boost any chances we have of changing this law and any type of support would especially mean the world to me.
