The UK Governments newly announced policy and transporting asylum seekers to Rwanda is inhumane, cruel and deeply flawed.

The policy is shameful and it is entirely at odds with the United Kingdom’s long record as advocates of human rights.  

I believe that the majority of people in the UK have values based on compassion and decency and this policy is a unforgivable rejection of every one of those values.

I call on the Government to reverse this policy immediately and to find a solution to the asylum seeker crisis that closely reflects the values of compassion and understanding that a country such as the UK should be displaying without question.
