I'm a Student currently who is going into Year 11.

As Schools are opening again some students are thrilled to get back into a "normal" school environment. However some like me are not. Some Students who have Underlying health conditions such as asthma or weak immunity are afraid. Like me. I am afraid of going back to school. The thought of  going on public transport to travel to school. The thought of being in school terrifies many students. But what terrifies them most is "what if i bring covid back home" and this is for many students who may live with high risk parents or grandparents or any legal guardian with any health issues.

The question that needs to be asked to the government is it worth risking health over education? . Is the country really ready for students to go back to school? Is the country ready for the amount of deaths that are going to occur when this second wave hits because of the irresponsibility of the prime minister and the government? Take what happened to The United states as an example of what will eventually happen to the uk. Schools will open,People will go back to work and the R rate will unfortunately rise.The virus will spike again, people will get infected and everything will have to eventually close for the second time. Students and many people will suffer even more due to further job losses and even more impact on the economy due to sudden closer again. Why risk so many Jobs and Lives  when we can wait.

Schools are adapting online,Student stress levels are much lower in home environments, There is  overall less pressure and feelings of anxiety . Yes online schooling isn't as efficient as being in a classroom and there is a lack of social interaction but why put so many people lives at risk when it's too early. The winter months are slowly approaching and scientists are warning of a second wave. I'm sure the heath Secretary of the UK is well aware of what is going to happen. We should to all unite as Students, Teacher and Parents to help. This will not only help students like myself but it will help also save teachers from being infected and it will prevent more lives from being lost.
