Why this petition matters

Started by Ketanya Burke

The Maasai Tribe are an indigenous ethnic tribe. Located in Kenya and northern Tanzania Africa. They are semi-nomadic. Meaning.. They have temporary dwelling and practice seasonal migration. Though, having a permanent  home for cultivation and crops. The Tanzanian government is trying to evict over 70,000 Maasai people from their ancestral land. A land of which the Maasai Tribe has occupied since the 15th century. The Tanzania government said the land will now go to the ORTELLO BUSINESS COMPANY for trophy hunting and tourism. In 2018, the East African Court Of Justice ruled in favor of the Maasai Tribe. Yet the Tanzania government is still attempting to evict the Maasai people form their home land. This is a violation of the Maasai Tribe AND the law. This is a violation of human rights. We urge you to stand with the MAASAI PEOPLE AND FIGHT THIS DISGUESTING ACT OF COLONAZATION AT IT'S WORST. PLEASE, SIGN THIS PETITION. LET THE MAASAI PEOPLE KNOW WE STAND WITH YOU.
