The Pennsyvania water company recently decided to begin draining 7 local reservoirs due to a $40 million grant given to them to repair the dams. The work is going to involve draining Griffin Reservoir, Curtis Reservoir, Dunmore Reservoirs #1 & #7, Summit Lake, Maple Lake, and Madison Township Reservoir. A majority of the Reservoirs listed above are commonly fished and hiked areas the public loves to go to in order to enjoy the very little bits of beautiful scenery around the Scranton/Lackawanna County area.
