Many dog breeds -- such as the Pitt Bull and the Doberman Pincher -- are discriminated against and labeled "aggressive breeds" because of how they were treated, raised, and individual dog issues. Research has been done to show that Golden Retrievers are more aggressive and dangerous than Pitt Bulls if they receive the same treatment.

I hope to remove this label and even remove the ban on these breeds for pet friendly apartments and rentals. If not, at the very least, I hope to spread the word and have people research and learn the truth.

These dogs do not deserve to be punished based on their appearance. There are many dogs of these breeds in shelters that can't be adopted because of this ban and many of them have to be put down because the shelters get too full.

Some of the common breeds that are banned are the following: Pitt Bull, Doberman Pincer, German Shepherd, Rottweiler, Boxer, Chow, Dalmatian, American Bulldog, and more.

The picture heading for this petition is a dog named Missy at an animal shelter in Michigan. She's a Pitt Bull and one of the sweetest dogs I've ever had a pleasure to know. This dog needs a loving home and family, but the fact that many places don't allow her breed hinders her chances at adoption.

It's time to make a difference. After the first 500 signatures, I will begin a search of apartments across the United States that ban these breeds, starting with Michigan. Share this petition with your friends and share your stories on our Facebook page and Twitter feed!

Stop the discrimination against certain dog breeds. These breeds have been labeled incorrectly and they don't deserve to be treated as they are. Nor do they deserve to be on any "Aggressive Breed" list. This includes Pitt Bulls, Doberman Pincers, German Shepherds, Rottweilers, Boxers, Chows, Dalmatians, and many others.
