*Update: The developer has now decided after the conditional use hearing has begun that they can not comply with the township noise ordinance and have filed a lawsuit claiming our ordinances are unreasonable and render their property undevelopable. This is proof that this project is not a done deal. We CAN preserve our community!
I am asking anyone who lives in Maidencreek township and those who travel 222 through Maidencreek to voice your opposition to a proposed warehouse development at 222 and Scheaffer rd in Maidencreek township. The proposal consists of a 930,000 sqft warehouse. At this time the developer does not have a tenant. This means no one can say with certainy the volume of traffic this will generate. We do not know if this will be a 24hr operation (most likely will). We do not know what could potentially be stored next to our homes. Some concerns to consider are noise 24hrs a day. A burden on our local firefighters in the event of a disaster. Environmental impact considering the property borders direct tributaries of lake Ontelaunee. The biggest concern of most would of course be traffic on an already congested road that we tax payers just spent millions improving.
This 930,000 sqft warehouse will have 216 loading docks. We could potentially have 1,000 trucks a day in addition to the employee vehicles traversing the new roundabouts.
We must unite together and let the township know how this will negatively effect our quality of living, safety and property values.
