Stop the destruction of Massey Creek’s boulevard entrance

Stop the destruction of Massey Creek’s boulevard entrance
Why this petition matters
The undersigned residents and supporters of the Massey Creek Subdivision respectfully request that Mayor Jacobs and the Knox County Department of Engineering and Public Works not destroy Massey Creek’s boulevard entrance on Mission Hill Lane. Mayor Jacobs has the discretion to allow the Massey Creek entrance sign and tree lined boulevard on Mission Hill Lane to remain as it has been maintained at the expense of our homeowner’s association since 2016.
We oppose the present threat to destroy the Massey Creek sign and boulevard to make way for five new residential driveways along Mission Hill Lane. The boulevard was not designed to accommodate driveway access. These additional access points will only create an unsafe condition at the bottom of a steep grade.
The sign, mature landscaping, and striped grass at the entrance to our subdivision are remarkably beautiful. They are a source of pride for our neighborhood that increases our property values and serves as a daily welcome home for each of us. Please do not take away this key emblem of the community we have built here in Massey Creek.
