I am sick and tired of the desire to be rid of all things natural and beautiful. Our country is fast becoming a horrid place for our future generations (something the government is always quick to say they care about). Leave these beautiful birds alone. Soon there will be nothing left in this world to enjoy .

BECAUSE I AM TOTALLY DISGUSTED THAT GODS CREATURES SHOULD BE UNNECESARILY KILLED.

The geese have a right to be there. The pollution man causes all over world does not result in the culling of people !!!

I'm a big bird lover and forever rescuing distraught or abandoned birds. I don't agree with the culling of anything in nature in general.

Firstly shouldnt it be renamed as a mass kill instead of cull ?
its now 2012 and still the majority of people murder instead of thinking and putting themselves in animals and nature's place.
The Wildlife and Countryside Act , farmers politicians all seem to be totally incapable of showing any signs of humane-compassion.
Pleas Stop this cull.

Nine out of ten families were keen to sign the petition. Visitors from all over the UK and locals alike said they oppose the slaughter of these gentle and beautiful creatures because (a) it is unnecessary. Barbaric was a word used time and again. (b) it is wrong for children to have to be exposed to the horrors of such violence, shooting parent birds whilst they guard their young, which is being carried out by people, grown ups purported to be moral and normal and (c) such acts of blatant blood letting, cruelty and savagery must never be associated with a place where visitors seek peace, and (d) the horrors of the Derek Bird shootings are brought back sharply to memory when guns, shootings and such wanton violence are once more being carried out in Cumbria.
