Arrogance is ignorance...I have been around plenty of 'horse' people in my life - and 'they' all know best.
Horses wish to please. They have to put up with unbelievable abuse by owners that think they love them.
Take 'endurance' courses for example..? Why would anyone who loves their horse EVER do such a thing to a horse they say they LOVE..!?

If xenophon (430 - 349 B.C.) could ride classically without hurting his horses, something has gone wrong somewhere. We are meant to be a partner with our horses, respectful of each other. We cannot get the result through domination and force!

I am not stupid and know what is happening physically to the horse. Nevermind emotionally, really in this day and age with the education we have. Move on and leave this sort of abuse behind.

Good ridigng should be the primary goal, and everyone who compete at any level should be able to do it without hurting the horse with bad fitted equipment.
