Our Council as part of a major development is looking to build yet more towers as shown in the diagram plans. Please also see this architects site:

There appear to be 15 towers/blocks of flats crammed into the space and 950 homes. This inevitably will lead to overcrowding, congestion in the area, more traffic, loss of privacy to many homes, devaluing many surrounding homes, loss of views, loss of sunlight as we see from the Wealdstone twin towers, and even more pressure on local services. There is not enough parking which means it will spill out onto surrounding roads. It is a myth to think that people in flats do not have cars.

If anyone has followed the Kodak build they will know it went to planning for a certain height was passed. Then the developer came back, asked for more height, and it was waived through by our council. If you stand at the top of the hill on Harrow View you can now see that added height starts blocking the view of the horizon and breaks the beautiful treeline, forever changing the landscape for the worse. Awful decision to allow increased height.

Surrounding roads’ residents near Kodak are complaining of cars from the flats parking in their roads, yet the council believed that those in flats don't use as many or any cars, which everyone knows is not true. Plus they have deliveries and visitors too and where do they park? The surrounding roads of course! It also substantially changes the character of the area, not matching it at all.

These plans for the Civic Centre site are almost on their way through, and there is just about time to stop them. Our council’s strategy is to endlessly build towers blocks on any patch of land. Act now or it will be spoilt forever.

Please sign this petition asking our council, whoever ends up winning in the 5th May local council elections, to stop these plans now, and stop cramming in as much as they can. I'm sure the towers will be higher than they suggest at the moment, as happened with the Kodak site.

As Harrow and local residents it is now or never to save this site from overdevelopment, We see this in Wealdstone with its monstrous "twin towers" towers. They are an eyesore for the whole borough of Harrow.

I would like to see the local residents consulted better and either an open green space for the arts, given its aptly named "Poets Corner", or normal surburban housing and/or employment for that area, but not more and more tower blocks.
