The bedroom tax is a disgusting form of taxation. Those in social housing and/or in receipt of Universal Credit are losing income every month. This money is needed more than ever, for food and heating. It imprisons people in unsuitable accommodation as local authorities do not have the necessary housing stock for their community. A young local family, where both parents are working but still need UC to survive, are losing £55.71 of their housing benefit every month. They are living in a 3 bedroom house with their 2 daughters. Hundreds of people locally are being put into debt to survive, yet the local authorities do not have the appropriate sized properties to house them. There is NO right to appeal this almost criminal taxation and it must be stopped now!
