Kevin Peters started this petition to Representative Scott DesJarlais and

La Vergne town leadership is force feeding the residents of La Vergne and Smyrna a new large development in an area that does not have the infrastructure to handle it. It is a money grab without consideration for what schools and especially roads can handle. There has been a lot of resident opposition to this development, but town leadership refuses to listen to the people who put them in office. And some elected dissenters have been effectively silenced and replaced with hand picked individuals. This is WRONG!!!!!
The schools in this area are already overloaded and will not be able to withstand the influx of children.
Waldron, Blair, and Rock Springs roads are not able to handle the increased traffic this proposed community would cause. With increased use of trucking on this part of Waldron and increased bussing needing for school children they are putting lives at risk due to road deterioration along the shoulders and the width of the road, people will be seriously injured perhaps killed because of their decision.

Frankly both La Vergne and Smyrna are decreasing the appeal of our area, in the name of progress and growth (in search of more money), by scalping more and more green areas. These green areas with the wild life are part of what makes our area a great place to live. We don’t want to live in Nashville, if we did, we would move further in the city. Stop trying to merge us into one big metropolis, “Towns” are a good thing and needed!

If you want to keep the Smyrna and La Vergne area south/west of 24 a nice place to live get involved and make your voice heard. For more information ask to join and support the Opposed Arbor Ridge Rezoning.
