As you (may or may not) already know there is a proposal to rezone and  build a 168 Unit Apartment complex in the 2100/2044 area of Buechel Bank Road. This is a 9 acre area of land that runs straight back to Bill Collins Ford. The complex will only have one way in and one way out which will be Buechel Bank Rd. This small country road can hardly handle the semis and the General Electric Appliance Park traffic nor all the cars who come through and the CONSTANT Fire Trucks, Ambulances and Police cars who speed down Buechel Bank Road. Not to mention the strain it will create on our 100 year old sewer, water lines and 50 year old telephone poles and minimal street lights up and down the road..

It already sits in a flood zone with a massive flood wall built by the creek. There are 4 apartment complexes, 3 nursing homes, two subdivisions, two churches,  and numerous homes facing the street. Two side streets also use Buechel Bank to get out of their streets. When asked at the September 15, 2021 Virtual Neighborhood Meeting when the street would be widened all three of the attorneys said they had never heard of a street widening.

Our State Representative Tom Burch was not present at the Virtual Meeting. He has not made one comment on this situation.

The sidewalks are terrible, you can’t turn at Bardstown Road without waiting for three light cycles. Now we will have a 168 unit complex. If two people live in one unit and they both have a car that would be close to 350 more cars everyday on Buechel Bank Road.

We do not want to have this happen to us!
