In Oak Ridge, TN, the police department is more crooked and corrupt than anything you've probably ever seen. Not only have officers been accused of sexual abuse of minors, they've also gunned down an elder, accused their citizens of being drug dealers and running prostitution rings, forced other citizens to submit to illegal anal probes, violated citizens freedom to illegal search and seizure, alongside assaulted multiple black citizens within Scarboro community; including an assault on a college student and mother that happened recently in 2020. 

Recently, we've released a documentary that exposes nearly every misdeed ORPD has committed, but one thing remains the same.... their targeting practices.

Oak Ridge police stalk the streets of the only remaining predominantly black neighborhoods inside of the city. Four to six police cars, sometimes filled with multiple cops can be found in this small section of the town. They sit and linger and wait for the residents to leave their homes. Once they're out, they pull them over for minor offenses. They use these pretext stops to harass these tax paying citizens. Sometimes, they miss out on crucial issues that arise within the city such as murders, thefts, money laundering, and more, due to their increased activity within Scarboro. Often times they can be seen sitting around the city parked beside each other, talking, instead of preventing crime. Many times they can be seen abusing their power by running red lights, stop signs, and turning their lights on and off even when there is no crime that they are responding to. This petition is to request for officers to be evenly distributed amongst the rest of the city and not solely concentrated in the only black neighborhood located inside of Oak Ridge. This petition is directed at Chief Robin Smith and the city manager Mark Watson. It was stated at the Black lives matter protest that you welcome improvement. This is the time to stand on your words. Improvement within your police department and retraining is needed. Harassment should not be tolerated, bullying should not be rewarded, murder should not be swept under the rug. Tax payers should be treated the same. 

The following officers have been accused of misconduct: Ray Steakley, John Thomas Jr., Christopher Ray Carden, Roy James Heinz, Dustin D. Henderson, Trae Sweeten, Charles Faircloth, Jared McGaha, Caleb McClurg, Sergeant Matthew Johnston, Lieutenant Robert Pitts, this petition is to request an official investigation on the disgusting crimes committed against multiple citizens that span more than a decade. This is to request that actions be taken against the officers stated above. They have continued to reward officers of the law whose wrongdoings are public knowledge. They have continued to perpetuate an unsafe environment for not only Scarboro community but for the poorer side of Oak Ridge, TN, whom do not reside in the affluent neighborhoods such as Rivers Run, Briarcliff, etc. 

Please show America that Oak Ridge, TN is united. That black and blue lives are on equal fronts. Because as of late, the bullying and harassment being done by your officers is vile. Until there is change, I will continue to expose your department and I will continue to be a voice to those who feel they do not have one.
