Legislation has been passed and is being promoted in several states that seeks to penalize companies that divest from purchasing stocks or supplies from petroleum sector companies. ALEC, the right wing lobbying organization, has sent out draft legislation to the states and they are now using their major purchashing power to punish companies that are concerned about the global warming effects of gas & oil usage and drilling on the environment.

We must let our legislators know we do not support such laws! If anything we demand an increase in funding and legislation that promotes seeking alternative, safer energy sources. 

Let your state senate and house representatives know you will not stand for them using the authority you've granted them to bully those companies and executives who are conscientious enough to realize the damage being done to the earth and its environment by our continued overdependence on petro energy! Let your governors know you want them to use their powers to eradicate such laws as may be in effect already!
