Standards-based grading makes it impossible to have a grade above a C, even if you work endlessly. I am a student who used to get all A's and every single class. Now I get C's. Standards-based grading basically says on a scale to 1 to 4 what your work is. One means you didn't try, two means you're getting better, three is exactly where they want you, Four is above and beyond. I don't get why being exactly where they want you is only a C. Shouldn't that being an A because you're literally at standard? Or at the very least it should be a B. My chances at ever getting A's again is gone. My GPA will forever be a 2.0 rather than a 4.0 like it has been in the past. I get so worked up over having even just a B, I bet you can tell how stressed I am about having C's because I'm at a three. I wish we could just go back to normal grading. 100% on a paper should mean 100% and not "oh you meet the standard so you get a a C". everyone I know absolutely hates the grading system. So why did we change it? Please I'm begging you sign this petition and make it so we can actually get in to GOOD colleges and don't have to constantly stress just to essentially fail.
