STOP SPEEDING ON HENTHORN ROAD

STOP SPEEDING ON HENTHORN ROAD
Why this petition matters

6 weeks ago my 6 year old son Rex was involved in an accident where he was hit by a car on Henthorn Road, Clitheroe. He was with his dad and little sister crossing the road at the time and although he came away with a broken leg it could have been so much worse. Thankfully the driver was not speeding which in turn resulted in Rex having an injury he can recover from, instead of a much more horrific outcome.
Since the accident Rex has been suffering from trauma, and can’t travel up Henthorn Road yet as he gets too upset. However we have spoken about the road, and he is determined to make it “safer so no one else gets hurt”. He can’t understand why people continue to zoom down it when there is a speed limit, and I want to show him that changes can be made if you fight for them.
Henthorn Road is notorious for drivers speeding, if you love locally you will be aware, even though it is a 20mph zone I know this is hardly stuck too.
Rex, and myself, are going to be petitioning to the local council to place measures to ensure a safer road, a road which has a LOT of traffic daily and is a main route for many people.
Please sign our petition to make Henthorn Road safer for everyone, before more accidents happen!
