When my friend was sat in the corridor, taking a breather as she was stressed, she was told by a teacher she cannot sit the way she was sat as she was wearing a skirt. When we told other teachers about this, she was just told to ignore it. Her situation was left undealt with which i do not feel is okay.

There is a rule that *GIRLS* cannot wear the leggings around school without shorts over them. The only given reason for this was that rude and inappropriate comments were being made. AGAIN I do not think this is okay as its basically telling women it is their own fault. 

I think schools need to stop with the rules and comments and start acknowledging these situations. What impression does it give to young girls? Making them feel they have to cover up and be concious of what they wear etc because its "their fault" these comments are being made in what should be a safe environment for everyone.

If this petition does come through, I hope that it makes school a safe place for all young girls / afab (assigned female at birth) students.
