Prime Minister Lee, “International relations based on “might is right” male world a dangerous place for small countries. What is happening in Ukraine now is important to us. Singapore strongly condemns Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and affirms that the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine must be respected”

On 28th February Foreign Affairs Minister Dr Vivian Balakrishnan said Singapore must take any violation of these core principles seriously, whenever and wherever they occur. We strongly urge Russia to cease this offensive military action immediately and to work for a peaceful settlement in accordance with the UN Charter and international law.

But Russia did not listen and hence Singapore has put sanctions on Russia including export controls, blocking Russian banks and financial transactions connected to Russia.
Sanctions must be placed on Russian owned trade vessels in order to stand with Ukraine. The UK has already banned Russian ships from its ports and the EU is considering. Please sign if you agree that as one of the biggest ports in the world, Singapore should do more to show that Singapore does not support the Russian invasion of a sovereign nation.
