Why this petition matters

The TISA Investments LLC wants to use a 2.06 acre area behind several houses on Patrick Road for a new apartment complex.  Currently this area is green open land that backs up directly to 4 homes on  Patrick Road as well as a trailer Park and several homes on Dwight Road. The buildings will be 2 stories tall, all studio or 1 bedroom units 15-20 units by the diagram sent out  to local residents. The entrance/exit to this complex will be the area the house is sitting on.  This house is a 2 story 1500 square foot house that sits adjacent to the area the apartments  sit on and exits to Patrick Rd.

We are asking that this stays as a single-family residential area or R-4 zone.

If rezoned the apartments will effect this neighborhood in several ways:  noise pollution will increase, loss of trees that currently block noise and light from the Burnett Rd area will be thinned or removed,  there is an area at the south end that has a large slope that will need to have a retainer wall of some kind put in, this is a potential flood concern for the houses at the end of Patrick rd, Patrick Rd is currently on a well system and we are unsure how this will effect home wells, Patrick Road is not set up for traffic of this magnitude-it is an unlined side street that deadends into a school, the apartments are not family friendly so this will be lots of single occupants or couples-the concern is that the crime rate will go up.  This is a very quiet family area, people sit out on thier decks, relax for a few hours in the evening and then go to bed early. By allowing this apartment complex that will change this negatively for the people living in this area.  This property has not been taken care of for the last few years.  It has not been mowed on a regular basis and brush has grown up on the fences lining the houses on Patrick Rd. Grass has grow over a foot tall at times, the house is in disrepair with raccoons living in it bothering the neighbors, chimney falling down, windows out.  This shows a pattern of disregard for the care of this lot and leads us to believe it will not be properly cared for in the future.

The signatures attached show that we do not want this area developed to apartment buildings.
