- Extreme Noise Pollution (averages 75 to100 decibels, covering a 3-mile radius) The operation now is on 1 1/2 acre in Limestone but will increase to a 5-acre spot in the Industrial Park (nearly 4 times the size) Runs 24/7
- Can cause power black outs and brown outs because of extreme power usage (The Limestone Mine uses more electricity than all of ETSU!)
- Detrimental to animals and wildlife
- Will cause property values to decrease and quality of life to diminish.
- An eye-sore to the community
- Some Commissioners have already said; they (Red Dog Tech.) were not transparent nor trustworthy and concerned that they might use loopholes in the future to operate the facility to THEIR advantage
- Washington Co. Attorney stated in the June meeting "Offering a place for Red Dog Technologies to relocate into the WC Industrial Park is NOT required by the County, this is a part of the proposed settlement!
- Part of enticing the deal: Red Dog has offered to pay $35,000 an acre instead of the asking price of $20,000 an acre. Hmm
