Here is a statistic: 4 Million animals die every year in shelters because there are not enough homes for them. 4 Million are bred in Puppy Mills every year. We could save them all! We can stop puppy mills. We just need to help each other to be able to do just that!

Stop Puppy Mills in North Carolina
Something has to done about the amount of dogs being bred. Take this statistic for example, In the U.S. alone over 10,000 humans are born every day and over 70,000 puppies and kittens are born everyday. With these birth rates there will never be enough homes for these animals. Another statistic that you may find interesting is that there over 4 million animals are killed in shelters ever year because they cannot find homes, and it is estimated that there are over 4 million animals bred in puppy mills each year. With this statistic it just seems the answer is so simple, stop back yard breeding and/or commercial breeding (Puppy Mills).
The average person is not aware of what a puppy mills is or the conditions and cruelty associated with it. Although it is illegal in North Carolina to abuse and neglect dogs, the cruelty of Puppy Mills go unnoticed and unregulated. Many of these animals spend years at a time in a cage, made to bred as often as possible causing illnesses and pain, not to mention living in feces, drinking dirty water and not being fed regularly and not getting the veterinary care that they need.
There are over 300 puppy mills in North Carolina, each one housing more than 1000 animals or in some cause many more than that. The lives of these animals can be changed. Step up and help us to stop the cruelly, step up and help us to stop puppy mills in North Carolina.
