Why this petition matters

Shahbaz Sharif, upon assuming Prime Minister's office after constitutional and parliamentary crisis, has resorted immediately to populism.

One such move is both increasing the number of days salaried class are forced to work as well as the number of hours. This without any fair compensation for extra labor incurred. Talk about modern day slavery.

Being salaried class in Pakistan is perpetual suffering. Our taxes are deducted at source yet we are given 0 representation and fair amount of social services in exchange. We face our hard earned taxes being used to fund luxury life style of politicians who then have the nerve to have their private militias point guns at us.

Unlike the well off who can afford all the help they need to tend to their many Mansions, Farmhouses and other business needs like depositing cash in banks, we the salaried class have to perform most duties such as caring for aged family members, children and cooking ourselves.

Think of the person doing a post graduate diploma at IBA or someone trying to do university applications or the tediously long job applications or taking care of a family member who has full body paralysis.

The Dutch are masters of efficiency because they hire meritocratically and have accountability i.e. of human resources and have the world class tools like IT infrastructure like slack. Europe is a million miles ahead of Pakistan in economic, human development and is considering creating shorter work hours for individual workers while in Pakistan, the salary class are used as a battering RAM by politicians.

This is akin to modern SLAVERY, I STRONGLY URGE OF YOU TO SIGN this in good conscience and DEMAND OF THE Prime Minister to avoid such brainless policies at a time when we are already artificially subsidizing fuel to the extent where our current account deficit will blow out of proportion and we'd default on debt obligations if we continue this farce of increasing energy consumption without productivity to show.
