Why this petition matters

Started by Kareem Refai

This invasive extension is being forced into our education systems in order to secure data for exams. It is highly invasive and most likely selling information to unknown sites. First, the application requires various personal permissions, such as credit card/financial information and chat and message history on all applications, accounts, and users downloaded on the computer. It also requests that we allow the software to vary the data and information on all of our applications; both for personal use and school use. Secondly, there are over 4,800 written reviews (all one-starred) talking about how invasive and unnecessary the software is. Some even say that it is malware/spyware, which is illegal without consent. And lastly, it wants to record our surroundings and collect data and info on the surrounding things. This may include our parents/siblings faces. (and mothers without hijab) at all times the computer is open. We do not even know the slightest information as to where all of this information is going.

The following assembles a list of the things the software wants to invade:

Personally identifiable information
For example: name, address, email address, age, or identification number

Financial and payment information
For example: transactions, credit card numbers, credit ratings, financial statements, or payment history

Personal communications
For example: emails, texts, or chat messages

For example: region, IP address, GPS coordinates, or information about things near the user’s device

Web history
The list of web pages a user has visited, as well as associated data such as page title and time of visit

User activity
For example: network monitoring, clicks, mouse position, scroll, or keystroke logging

Website content
For example: text, images, sounds, videos, or hyperlinks

For all of these reasons, please sign this petition and share it.
