Privatization is a slippery slope. The more the land is privatized, the easier it is to sell a bit more privatization, because the best argument against privatization, namely the unspoiled natural beauty , is weakened by each successive privatization.

It's National park, it should be a no brainer.

Why is this important to you? (Optional)Te Whenua nui a Ka Kai Tahu tupuna. It is my inherited and inherent understanding that this great landscape, of and within Te Wahi Pounamu/Te Whakataka a Karehu a Tamatea/Te Tutae a Tuterakiwhanoa/Ata Whenua/Fiordland is a place of esteemed significance to my Kai Tahu ancestors, a Taonga of the New Zealand people and part of a wider area that has international significance. Any physical modification should be minimal, if anything, and limited to only those procedures that would accommodate the continued health of the environment. A private-use tunnel, in my personal opinion, does not fit in with any conceptualised, sustainable, best practice. My best wishes to the 'Stop the Tunnel' campaign, especially in their efforts to inform and represent the people and their works to inspire best judgement and coherent thinking in our decision-makers.

As one who has walked the Routeburn 3 times, the Hollyford & the Milford Track I find it impossible to believe that you could even consider letting somebody drop all that tunnel spoil in the valley and destroy the peace at both ends..
Please say NO

My son in law is a Kiwi and I have always wanted to return to your country to see the scenic parts - I have only visited Wellington & Auckland. Please don't destroy them before I can.

I want the only untouched place in New Zealand to remain untouched.

I have walked extensively in the Fiordland National Park and also have a deep sense that the National Park should leave some areas for trees/birds/lizards and geckos/ and insects not to mention the river systems for their natural values and not for what people want. These places have an intrinsic right to their own space
