This is discrimination and so unfair on a lot of children.

I was a teacher - this is an appalling situation!

Please get this sorted! This penalisation should never have occurred & if the absence is one that has not been authorised, you are still penalising the child for the sins of the parent.

It’s not right to discriminate against children with medical conditions in this way.

Attendance should not be rewarded, there are too many other factors than can affect it, be it home life or illness to name just two. Why should those completely unable to achieve a high attendance be penalised?

My son can never get 100% attendance as he has to go the the hospital 4 times a year. Appts are in school time instead of after school so no choice. We work hard to keep him healthy and he rarely misses school as we work hard to manage his condition.

This lad was ill and had a genuine reason and should NEVER be punished for this

I am signing as children with underlying medical conditions do not choose to be ill and off school.

Why make a kids Christmas more miserable by not allowing them to attend school Christams parties etc when it's no fault of their own that they can't have 100% attendance record every year?
