New Jersey lawmakers are trying to force self service gas stations on a state that has been full service only since 1949. Many who have lived in NJ all their lives have never pumped their own gas and do not want to start now.  This petition is to stop the lawmakers from arbitrarily changing this full service only law. Instead it should be up to New Jerseyans to make the decision for themselves. Lawmakers should put it on the next ballot. The lawmakers for self service claim it will lower gas prices. I’m sure this will be true for the first year, but then will find its way back up in price. The gas stations claim the cost savings is because they can simply have no attendants. I’ve never seen a gas station, including self service, without an attendant. Attendants still need to be there to pay cash or if there is an issue with your credit card or the gas pump. I guess no attendant means you’ll have to pay the higher credit card cost, since you won’t be able to pay cash. Also with no one at the station, more skimmer devices will find their way onto the credit card slots the gas pumps. This idea of no attendant is ridiculous. Please sign this petition so we can stop a few lawmakers change our state forever without even asking its residents.
