The US Department of Labor (DOL) defines a sweatshop as any factory that violates two or more labor laws, such as those pertaining to wages and benefits, working hours, and child labor. In 1996, the DOL estimated that at least half of the 22,000 garment shops in the US fit this definition, Nike being one of them. The issue of Nike's sweatshops have been claimed since 1990, and nothings happened to stop it. This is affecting children, who are being forced against their will, Uighur's, and more. If we don't try and help, then it continues.
