The AR-15 rifle is once again being blamed for the actions of a person with criminal intent. This rifle is a commonly owned and used rifle with no functional differences than any semi-automatic rifle or handgun. These semi-automatic firearms have been in daily use by ordinary citizens for over 100 years and are used for hunting, self-defense, competition shooting, and target practice. Demonizing a weapon for the actions of a human is wrong and deliberately misleading to the uninformed. If this particular weapon were banned, it would not get it out of the hands of anyone who currently owns one, nor would it prevent mass shootings with some other kind of firearm. Then the next call to action would be to ban that kind of firearm. Stop the misinformation now!!!
