We need a barrier installed where no left turns can be made into Kenway. By putting a barrier where no left/right turns can be made at the Kenway intersection, I believe at that it will slow the number of wrecks and fatalities in Bowling Green! That turn has a bad blind spot for the speed traveled on that road. The trucks turning into Kenway usually are big and slow (dump trucks/garbage trucks) or have trailers and cover both lanes leaving people traveling at that speed no time or space to react. I have witnessed so many close calls, actual wrecks and now a death due to this. How many more life’s need to be lost for this to happen? How many more cars need to be totaled for this to happen? Slowing the speed won’t change people thinking in big trucks “oh they won’t hit me”. Something has to be done as I don’t want another life being lost. I am doing this for Ethan Gilleland, a 20yr old kid, man yes but he never will get to experience his full life! His life was taken from him as he had no alternative route to make from the truck and trailer taking up both lanes. I’m also doing this for the driver of that truck. He was distraught and visibly upset and will have to live his life knowing he took Ethan’s. By making that a no turning lane, that will force drivers to turn at the light making it a safer left hand turn for all involved!!! Please help me get this barrier installed by signing this petition so I can get it into the right hands and get this going!!
