Stop issuing huge varieties of commemorative and definitive stamps/save trees .

Since the beginning of this year and till now we have seen multiple issue of indian philatelic stamps including miniature sheets/sheetlets numbering 175 with a face value of ₹8600 . With the advent of electronic media, usage of emails, sms, whatsapp, facebook and other social media apps, etc has increased multifold. On the otherhand writing letters, sending greetings, wedding invitation cards, etc are all taken over by these apps and private couriers.
Now only very few stamps are getting used and that too by a section of philatelists like us. Moreover, now a days post offices in many parts of Bharat are insisting on paying cash over counters instead of affixing stamps. If we are affixing stamps, the postal staff does not care to cancel it with proper cancellation seals, they just kill the stamps with the pens in their hands, thereby killing our hobby.
Main point is that, now there is no need of issuing such a giant quantity and so high denomination stamps which are not used or which will not be used in future. Whatever these giant issues are coming out will not see the light out of Govt. treasuries. With the passage of time it will get rotten and will be a great loss to postal revenue because already we philatelists have left this hobby. We philatelists are finding it difficult to continue this hobby any further. Now we are not in a position to buy so many issues in a single year, nor our future generations will be attracted towards this already huge investment hobby.
Last and not the least, on one hand we are asking every body to lessen the use of paper so as to conserve trees for our future generations. Why so many tonnes of papers are converted into gummed stamps which doesn't have any use as of now and will not be of any use in future.????
Its our humble request to control the bumper issues of unwanted stamps to save our already dead hobby.
Note: This data of stamps issued is till 27.11.17 till issue of Mahabharat stamps, still many issues are lined up with postal department which are yet to be issued.
