House Bill 1532, otherwise known as Teaching Racial and Universal Equality (TRUE) Act, sets out to restrict education about race, American history, politics, sexual orientation and gender identity. The broad language of this bill would allow for potential punitive action against schools and teachers. 

Under House Bill 1532 schools may be defunded or closed and teachers may be fired for teaching about important historical and sociological topics such as slavery, the rise totalitarianism or gender identity.
