Central Bucks School District is one of the largest school districts in the state of Pennsylvania. It covers a wide area of the Philadelphia suburbs, and its policies as such as a large district are sure to impact the smaller districts surrounding it or even the way schools operate statewide. 

Recently, CBSD’s school board has been implementing policies that attempt to erase the struggles of its non-white and queer students. This includes forbidding teachers from hanging pride flags in their classrooms, banning books focused around the struggles of LGBT people and people of color, attempting to silence peaceful student protestors, and so much more. 

If we allow this behavior to continue, it will not only normalize racism and homophobia in CBSD schools, but has the potential to normalize these discriminatory policies in schools around the state, if not the country. Please let the school board know that these policies are not okay, and that LGBT students and students of colors have a place in their district.
