Stop hidden ticket fees: make ticket companies play fair
Booking tickets for live music, comedy and theatre shows is often spoilt by compulsory fees. The face value price of the ticket is just the start, with hidden booking and delivery charges sneaking up on you as you checkout. We can stamp out hidden ticket fees, but only with your help.
Eight in ten event-goers think compulsory ticket fees are a rip-off. And almost half of audiences say that these extra charges have put them off booking tickets online.
For example, a £25 ticket for Jimmy Carr's Wolverhampton gig could set you back an extra £9.50 in compulsory fees – a massive 38% of the ticket's face value.
The fact these fees are often hidden is an even bigger kick in the teeth, as it makes it almost impossible for you to compare prices when booking online.
Which? wants to stamp out hidden ticket fees, which is why they've launched their Play Fair on Ticket Fees petition to put pressure on the ticketing industry.
You should be able to see all extra compulsory charges shown upfront when you first see the ticket price. Which? will be challenging ticket companies to justify their fees and set them at a fair level. They have to prove that they’re not taking advantage of fans.
We have an opportunity to change the ticketing industry for the better, so please sign and share Which?'s petition to make ticket companies play fair.
I support Which?'s campaign to make ticketing companies play fair on ticket fees.
