Stop health professionals treating pregnancies of babies with Down Syndrome negatively

During my pregnancy with my daughter Sophia who sadly passed I was asked at every ultrasound and midwife appointment if I was committed to my pregnancy. My decision to keep her was literally on every page of my notes but I was still asked. This really upset me and i actually felt they were telling me I had made a bad decision. Possibly if I didn't have my wonderful little brother who has Down Syndrome me I would of been persuaded to terminate under the pressure. Why are babies with Down Syndrome so under valued?! Did you know a woman can terminate with a healthcarers permission after 24 weeks, a beautiful baby who already has a high chance of survival if born early can have its life cut short. I want to ask health professionals to change the way this is managed so the mother doesn't get asked once she has made her decision. Maybe we could save some babies lives as well as stop making the mother feel like her baby is not worth keeping. In recent years a lot has been done to treat individuals with Down Syndrome with equality and in doing so that person is thriving and achieving in society and offering a different perspective. Let's ask for this to be undertaken right from before birth.
