This petition is an attempt to STOP ACTIVISTS, PROTESTING on MILITARY FUNERALS.
PLEASE HELP STOP HARASSMENTS and taunts against the patriots who died
PLEASE HELP PROTECT soldiers who sacrificed their lives for our freedom and-
PLEASE HELP DEFEND their Families, grieving at the Funerals of their loved ones.
Religious groups who protest at military funerals such as Westboro Baptist Church, is notorious for their method of practice in protesting at military funerals. They believe in the wrongs of doing in homosexuality and denounce all people involved in homosexual activity as ‘against god’s will’. These members of religious group are not just unafraid to publicize and confront the so-they-claim ‘fags’ to condemning them to hell, but they practice this routine-protest activities AT FUNERALS by using picketing signs that literally deliberate mottos such as:
- Thank God for Dead Soldiers
- Thank God for 9/11
- God Hates America
- Pray for More Dead Soldiers
- Don’t Pray for U.S.A.
- Thank God for IEDs
- Fag Troops
- God Killed your Sons
...and many more, countless, picketed with the U.S. flag held, Upside Down.
These activists yell, scream, shout, picket these profane statements
DURING THE BURIAL OF THE SOLDIER'S FUNERALS.
Claiming that justice have been served by god, these activists completely disregard any respect to the deceased soldier and their families. The religious group members evade the traditions and personal reputations of the soldiers and their families by picketing and yelling at the deceased, using inappropriate names at burial sites.
It is in the argument by the activist members of these group members that the death of the soldiers, whom they protest against, have surely been executed righteously by god, to punish America for tolerating ‘homosexuality’. Through their argument, the members of these group denounces to the public; The dead soldiers and their families are in the path to hell and then warns them again and again, ‘America, shall go to hell’, in derivation of their beliefs.
First Amendment, the Freedom of Speech, entitles these religious members to practices these rituals at funerals. Because these activists claim First Amendment as their right to ‘harass’ American citizens and soldiers at funerals, the practices executed by these religious group members are difficult for the government to control and regulate.
However, it is obvious, not just to the soldiers and their families, who had been violated of their rights, but it is to every citizen, that everyone deserves the right to have a peaceful funeral in remorse of our family and friends or ourselves. Fundamental RIGHTS to EVERY American Citizens. A person, deserves, a peaceful practice of a traditional ceremony like a FUNERAL, when passing on to another realm.
FUNERAL IS SACRED, RELIGIOUS, TRADITIONAL AND PRIVATE. ACT OF PROTEST AT THE FUNERAL IS NOT A RIGHT. IT IS HARASSMENT, IT IS AN INVASION OF PRIVACY, IT IS AN INVASION OF RIGHT AND FURTHERMORE, IT IS AN ABUSE.
Funeral-protest laws have been passed in at least 41 states. The laws limit the funeral protesters to stay away from the funeral site, ranging from 200ft to 500ft away. States including: Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming, have passed the law as current standing.
In the federal level, Congress passed the more narrowly confined Respect for America’s Fallen Heroes Act and President George W. Bush signed it into law on May 29, 2006. The law broadly prohibits any type of demonstration “under the control of the National Cemetery Administration or on the property of Arlington National Cemetery unless the demonstration has been approved by the cemetery superintendent or the director of the property on which the cemetery is located.” It imposes both time (one hour before and after) and distance requirements (150 feet from road and 300 feet from the cemetery).
However, the recent protests demonstrated by these activists proved, that THESE LAWS ARE NOT STRONG ENOUGH to protect the rights of the deceased soldiers and their families.
Either you agree or disagree with the current politics, policies of the current war, PLEASE HELP. Help to protect the honors of the fallen soldiers by signing this petition.
Your Voice, WILL HELP.
Your Petition, WILL COUNT.
Lets Do this, TOGETHER.
