My Father, Shiblal Sharma(Senior Citizen) a/c holder of UCO bank Dhuliyan(WB) Branch. On 2-February-2017 he has deposited a SBI cheque numbered 9XXXX1 of Rs 60000/- which was issued by Dhuliyan Post Office to UCO Bank for collection. The UCO Bank has lost the cheque. They have admitted that in writing. In order to get a duplicate cheque the UCO Bank Dhuliyan Branch have to execute an indemnity bond along with my father and have to obtain a non payment certificate from SBI. But inspite of repeated requests the Dhuliyan Branch has not helped him getting the duplicate cheque and they are not executing the indemnity bond. His hard earned money is at stake due to big flaw in Government Process. I have attached the relevant documents for your reference. Please look into this matter and help him to get the duplicate cheque at the earliest.
A grievance has been already filled with UCO bank with No response.
I want Central Government to take a strict step on this matter and help my Father getting his money back which UCO Bank is holding back from past 4 months. Government should also introduce a fast track process to bank/post office, which will accelerate the process of issuing a duplicate cheque in case of lost of cheque by bank.
