Hamblen County Commission is working on changing public comments for the public to speak from the present 3 minutes on Agenda items at the first of the meeting and 3 minutes at the end of the meeting to speak on non agenda items. 

IF it is changed to combine the opportunity to speak on the agenda or non agenda items, the speaker will have ONLY 3 minutes to address his or her concerns. No longer will citizens have a total of 6 minutes open to them. Hamblen County Commission is ALSO DISCUSSING LIMITING speakers to a maximum of 30 minutes in total. IF YOU SHOULD HAVE 10 SPEAKERS that would be all allowed if someone was number 11 they would be left out completely WITH NO OPPORTUNITY TO SPEAK. 

This is scheduled to be taken up at the next Hamblen county commission meeting on Thursday Jan. 19, 2023 at 5:00 P.M. Folks MUST show up now to speak up or it will be TOO LATE, the opportunity to speak will be GONE.
