The Observer's Ron Leir published an article on January 13, in which Shallan Haddad of Newark, detailed plans to demolish Lincoln Cinemas and erect an apartment complex in its place. If he gets his way this new building would contain 20 to 24 apartments. Even if parking was provided to code, which Haddad himself has said is doubtful, this would mean more traffic, more parking problems, and a 3+ story structure in the middle of Kearny Ave.

If you are opposed to this and care about the future of Kearny, the council, the zoning board, and the planning board must hear your voice. The results of this petition will hopefully be brought before them in the coming weeks.
