Hannah Morris started this petition to Stop greyhound dog racing in Ireland

Greyhound racing is dog abuse and the dogs are very overworked, if they get to family friendly, too old to race or simply want to stop racing, they are giving to a shelter, sent to a breeding farm (or puppy mill), and if they are old sometimes killed. They are than replace with another dog straight away. The people who breed and put these dogs in races don’t care about them all they want is money. This needs to stop. Why can’t we treat them properly. And if greyhound racing does stop (hopefully) we can still give greyhounds the exercise they need in different ways as they belong in a family. They deserve to be loved, not treated like objects, but treated like a living been, because they are living, and breeding, they have emotions, they are not to be used for horrible people to make money. It’s not right. The dogs die from heatstroke from being out in the sun or the air conditioning malfunctioning in there kennels, or they are severely injured. What about this seems right to people. Nothing about this is right. It’s not fair in these poor animals to be treated like nothing, they don’t care about them after they stop racing, and why do they race in the first place, they are treated as objects for people’s entertainment. We should be past this point in humanity, but sadly we aren’t. We have to make changes if we want the world to be better.
Please help us save these dogs by signing

Thank you
