Stop Grant County PUD Degradation of the White River Salmon Stronghold

We believe the current Grant County PUD proposal to build an experimental acclimation facility on top of the White River/Lake Wenatchee Headwater Wetland is NOT beneficial for habitat, does not enhance the internationally recognized salmon stronghold, and attempts to stock Spring Chinook in an area that historically has not had strong runs.
Grant County PUD's mitigation plan is fundamentally flawed. Negative attributes include development on a Chelan County wetland, negative impacts to native fish by artificial propogation, methodology aimed at reducing losses to predators, invasive tagging of native fish, disregard for Chelan County Shoreline Master Plan, disregard to wetland setbacks, and NO research on impact to the ecosystem and other native fish.
We ask for
The current Chelan County zoning regarding wetland setbacks and the Shoreline Management Plan to be enforced and not be adapted to allow the Grant County Mitigation Projects.
State and county leadership in the conservation of healthy wild salmon populations and functioning watersheds by preventing wetland degradation in "salmon strongholds".
High level, multi-organizational, non-invasive, peer review, scientific research to explore the whole habitat consequences of supplementation in the White River.
If the Grant County PUD must complete a mitigation project for continuing fish losses from the Priest Rapids Dam may we suggest habitat improvement projects such as modifying the barrier that bi-sects the White River wetland and inhibits the natural stream migration across the valley floor.
