In New Zealand our Prime Minister and Labour Party Leader, Jacinda Ardern approved funding for a gang run Methamphetamine Rehabilitation program, this involved giving them $2.75 million of public funds. The opposing National Party has drafted a bill up called the ‘Prohibition of Providing Public Funds to Gangs’, this bill is designed to stop any NZ government from funding gangs, but it has currently been rejected by the Labour Government. We are aiming to get this bill legalised so that the government can’t provide public funds directly to gangs, this money could instead be used to fund public drug rehab programs.
