Stop GM planting by SYNGENTA Corp AND save our water from Atrazine!

One of the dangers (there are many) of genetically engineered sugar beets is the the pollen will travel up to 6 miles causing cross contamination of organic plants, making them GM seed; thus making saving organic seed impossible. The project is being carried out by SYNGENTA corporation. There are plots all around Ashland, Oregon. The planting is scheduled for one week.
Syngenta corporation also invented the herbicide atrazine, it is the primary manufacturer. Syngenta is one of atrazine’s most ardent defenders and promoters. Atrazine of the most commonly detected pesticides in U.S. ground and surface water; there is becoming an increasing concern amongst scientists about the human health and ecosystem impacts of atrazine. Atrazine is a known “endocrine disruptor” that is linked to reproductive harm and cancers!
There are many reasons that Syngenta corp needs to be kept out of our town and out of all of Oregon, but the main reasons are, the health and safety of our community, to protect our rights to save our own seeds, and having the rights to choose the food we eat and plant! Please stand against Syngenta planting in our area, sign the petition today!
