Gwinnett county planning department is being petitioned to rezone a green space less than 1000ft from our Snellville subdivision to a commercial C-2 zone. They plan on having another gas station and a convenience store next to us. Besides the health related issues that come from living extremely close to a gas station (cancer, leukemia etc). Most of the rain water that runs off from the gas station will run into the creek behind us which in turn will run into a pond in the next subdivision. This may lead to contamination of our streams, it will also lead to more traffic, crime, noise and light pollution. Building an additional gas station will bring down our property value. 

Last year someone was killed at one of the closest gas station to our subdivision yet Gwinnett county government wants to add another gas station.

We want to petition the Gwinnett county government to prevent this from happening. There are at least 20 gas stations in less than a 10 mile radius. There is no reason to build another one.
